That's really good! Really lovely! So I thought I’d post this here on Ribh’s thread as that’s where a lot of the creative stuff appears. A while ago I posted on Bob’s thread that I had gone back to drawing, but the perspective was out. I got an easel for Christmas and bought myself some canvases (which I have not worked with before so that was a new experience). I want to do a series of tasteful nude portraits, with a view to displaying them somewhere. I finished the first one the other night and I’m really happy with how it turned out. I’ll stick it behind a spoiler for those who nudity in not their thing.

I’m finding it a cathartic experience, which is something I really need right now.

Canvases are fun. Thanks Ribh.I’m really happy with how it turned out and feel encouraged to keep going. I want to redo my original picture and get the perspective right, which is why I got big canvases so I had plenty of room to play with.
Did you ever go to art classes? I'm asking because I have a long-held fantasy of learning how to draw and paint. I'm someone who values expertise so I'm thinking classes would be good for me.Thanks Ribh.I’m really happy with how it turned out and feel encouraged to keep going. It depends on the teacher. The good ones know how to teach technique without stifling creativity.Did you ever go to art classes? I'm asking because I have a long-held fantasy of learning how to draw and paint. I'm someone who values expertise so I'm thinking classes would be good for me.
I'd like to find time to give it a try, but honestly my time continues to be scarce. It depends on the teacher. The good ones know how to teach technique without stifling creativity.
I didn’t; it just seemed to evolve for me. When I started noticing the negative shapes, that’s when I started to get better. I like to copy stuff, rather than draw things from scratch.Did you ever go to art classes? I'm asking because I have a long-held fantasy of learning how to draw and paint. I have been standing at the window like I was back on the bridge of a ship. I feel like a ship captain when I stand there and look out.I love the window. The window decoration is even better!![]()
