Ribh's D'Coopage

I wasn't aware that they doubled as wind speed and direction indicators! Useful attribute.

Geez @Ribh, what trauma you've had lately! :hugs
Thanks, Bruce. Soda wasn't completely unexpected. She's been slowing for some time. Hepzibah was a shock but I am all good. I've dealt with far more traumatic deaths that were much harder to accept. They didn't suffer & were loved & cared for right up until the end.

Actually they were both over 6 ~ so they did well for bigger egg producers.
They did do very well. Reflects well on their keeper. :hugs :hugs

But this does make me even more concerned for Lilly. 😬 She is about the same age.

Soda is gone too.
In all honesty I wasn't expecting to find her alive this morning.
A storm rolled through late afternoon. Most of the girls were on the patio. Not Soda. I thought she was in the shed as she has been napping there late afternoon but wherever she sheltered wasn't adequate as she was soaked through. I dried her off, but old lady that she was, she kept nodding off & when I carried her to roost I noticed that in just a few days she had lost all her condition & was as light as Olivia. Without Hepzibah I think she lost all will to live.

She was the last of my original 5.

This is my favourite photo of her. My 3 big girls were dustbathing together happily when along came Soda & plonked herself in the middle of them! 🤣 At least she was comfy!

Oh no, I'm so sorry :hugs :hugs Soda also had a wonderful life with you :hugs :hugs

How are you doing, Sue? Have things improved for you?
Hi Jeannie, I'm doing fairly well, thanks for asking. I think things are getting better everyday, but my vertigo is still lingering and so is the pain in my shoulder, but over time they will pass.
I'm pretty much in charge of caring for our small flock of 13 Barred Holland's as it give me something to do and it gets me out of the house briefly.
