Ribh's D'Coopage

Desdemona & Chavi.
We had something of a mini crisis this evening.
Shuri, my gold laced Wyandotte frizzle, has begun showing some of the less pleasant Wyandotte traits & stopping all my little bantams from coming in to roost. Unlike Portia [SLWF] she's low on the totem pole & looks to be more Wyandotte bantam sized than standard. Certainly nowhere as big as Portia. I usually fend her off with the rake as she has a real thing for my white Japs & harrasses them mercislessly.

There don't seem to be issues during the day so as I was watching the girls mill round the door I noticed Chavi was missing. The girls roost late so it was already pretty dark & I didn't much fancy my chances of finding a little black hen tucked away somewhere in the yard. However I dutifully found a torch & did the circuit. No Chavi.

Back to the shed I went to do a more thorough search.
I found her in a nesting box sitting on an egg & Titania was practically sitting on top of her so Chavi just looked like dark shadow. 🙄 I swear these bantams go broody @ the drop of a hat!

According to Wikipedia the answer to that is:

The following example comes from Immortalia: An Anthology of American Ballads, Sailors' Songs, Cowboy Songs, College Songs, Parodies, Limericks, and Other Humorous Verses and Doggerel, published in 1927.
[and what follows is the version you are all thinking of but no, I am not going to type it out here and be the person who posted that in a family-friendly forum!]

I meant to post that with my earlier post but was so carried away by the bucket version that I pressed 'post' too soon!
Who knew this would be so much fun and educational! You are all welcome. 😆

There once was a boy from Nantucket*
Who talked quite a lot with his puppet
His friends thought it odd
And called him a sod
But he grew up to give the world Muppets.

:gig

My first one was better although I do feel Kermit would approve of the second.

*Excessive poetic licence :D
I love it! :clap :clap :clap

I glad it all worked out fine. I am surprised to find out that your perfect little Wyandotte isn't so perfect.
