Riding attire

I go to Dover Saddlery or Dressage Extensions for all my riding or horse needs. I realize they are dressage and English oriented, however they also carry general horse care stuff.

I just got my Dover catalog the other day---there is a pair of breeches that I would love to have for a great bargain of, oh, only around $300!

My old instuctor used helmets just like the one I'm getting... Their supposed to be great helmets

But the horse is over 15, and I'm pretty good at not falling off

Hahaha, you say that now, but even the most calm and level horses can cause a fall! We have a very old gelding who has never done anything crazy in his life, but I've nearly fallen off of him a few times because he can be clumsy and trip!

I ride western and LOVE these pants with the boot cut legs. I wear them with Ariat ankle lace-up boots: http://www.actionridertack.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_301&products_id=880

I
little more money but have the suede on inside knees: http://www.actionridertack.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_301&products_id=928

They
have high waist that doesn't roll and look great. Hair and most dust/dirt just brushes off. If your saddle has slick seat, you'll want the ones with suede seat or you'll slip around. My saddle seat is suede.

I have pretty much the same story. I fell onto crushed asphalt and dented my Troxel, but other than being sore everywhere else I was fine.

Wish I was just sore everywhere else. Had a smashed cell phone and broken arm. Sigh.

I'm going to sound really stupid, but I've never ridden with a helmet.

I was crash course taught by a cowboy's daughter and she didn't wear one either. Come to think of it, the one time I went to camp we didn't wear them. I wasn't even aware that people wore helmets when riding until I started watching the Rolex cup. I've only ever had one bad fall and helmet would have done nothing to save me shoulder. Now I wish I did have one.
