Ripley, the 4 legged chicken!?

Pics
Okay listened again and it says

“But to the layman they represent so much meat. The absence of the wing bone allows for more. But this is counterbalanced by underdevelopment of the breast. Net result? About half a pound lighter than an ordinary chicken.”

The Minorca and Brahma part was right though and the no flying.

It also says “Experts say that they have no inclination to fly which perhaps is just as well. Life would be very frustrating if they had. 16 inches of wire netting is enough to keep them in instead of the usual 6 feet.”

I re-listened too.
You're younger than I am, so you heard it correctly. Age is my excuse, and I'm sticking to it. :lau

Ok, we need more pics of Ripley!

Glad we both came to the same conclusion! Lol

And it’s okay! Completely understandable! And I admit sometimes even I have to turn the TV up pretty loud to hear it

Here's a 1950 video showing a flock of wingless chickens. It looks like they were developing them intentionally, I guess it never took hold:

That was really weird and interesting! Wow

And yes! More pics!

I'll get more pictures of Ripley in a bit :) I think she's frustrated with me always picking her up lol. Hopefully she'll get over that and be a friendly girl.

I didn't mean to take the thread off topic.

Ripley is famous now, getting handled and photographed goes with the territory!

Off topic is fine with me lol. That will keep things interesting and pass time while she grows! I'm hoping she gets used to it all and becomes a little diva, especially during photo shoots!

I found the thread! This one passed away very soon after they got it though :( although I think it was weak to begin with. Plenty of chickens are still able to live full lives :)

And here’s the duckling I think. Not sure where the update would be though.

Couldn’t find the quail thread but I would like to read that.

Apparently this is not that uncommon since we all thought of 3 different threads on it.
Here's another thread about a duck with a foot sticking out of its head: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...-crisis-but-look-at-this-help-please.1276357/
