Hydrogen peroxide can be a decent for a first cleansing,
but it can also damage healthy tissue,
and should not be used near the eyes.
There are better things to use.
Hopefully @Wyorp Rock and/or @Eggcessive come along.


Hard to say what's going on with this comb.......could be pecking scabs or a fungus.

No, hydrogen peroxide is very harsh on poultry wounds! It stings and causes pain, don't use that!

I agree with @azygous I would use Blu Kote on that as well, that will cover most bases on this one.

I gave him a clean with a warm rag and put a drop of aquaphor on to hold him off for the night until I can pick up the blu kote tomorrow and put him in his special quarantine area inside the coop that we built when we first introduced him to the flock so the girls won’t be pecking on him tonight, hopefully that’s alright!

That sounds great. Hopefully the Blue-Kote will help once you get it in the morning.

Bluekote will mask what's going on there, will be hard to see if it's healing or not.
Vetricyn or plain old neopsorin would be better, IMO.
