Rooster has frostbite on comb and SEVERELY swollen waddle

I am betting that it is only frostbite. Someone recently in the last 2 weeks had an idenitcal case of frostbite on comb and huge swollen wattles. Their vet ended up draining the wattles of a lot of clear fluid which relieved his pain. I wish I could post a link to that thread for you to read. I have an Apple computer now, and cannot seem to post links.

I cannot thank you enough for this. You ladies are so very helpful. I have had chickens for 4 years and I have never had this happen. I also don't normally have Roos.

Thought I'd insert my wattle-bite story.
Couple years ago ...black came before swelling, which only lasted a few days and didn't bother him too much.
A day after black appeared the swelling came.

3-4 days after swelling appeared it was gone.

Didn't get an 'after' pic but within a few weeks the black had sloughed off and there were only pencil thin scars left behind, hard to see if you didn't know what to look for, no treatment was applied.

The first photo is before draining, the second is after. We got about 3 mL out. Kind of disappointed the swelling isn't gone and he still can't hold his head up.
