Rooster Loosing Neck Feathers

Rest of flock (2 hens) look fine. No indication of mites or lice. Just my rooster loosing neck feathers. His neck is clear, no white egg clusters at feather base, skin looks clear.

One of mime loses those feathers when he breeds

Have you seen the hens grooming him? My guess is the hens are grooming him to the point that they're stripping his neck bare.

Are your hen's getting enough protein? Maybe they are plucking and eating your boy's feather's.

Thank you for this input. I have not seen them grooming him. I also have not witnessed him mating with them either.

Thank you for your reply. This is an interesting thought. I just increased their protein in their feed. I’ll see how that goes.

Handsome boy, kinda looks like my barred rock and austrolorp boy. What is he? I hope everything works out well, sorry I can't help. Though if he's super stressed he could pull out his own feathers.
