One of my roosters has been cocky lately & looks like he got in a good scuffle. His spur is hanging on by a thread! He walks fine (unless he bumps it) but I'm worried it's hurting him. 😔

Is there a wound spray that might numb it? Will it just fall off? He isn't one that will just let me catch him & doctor it. 😬

If you have a Dremel tool, you could cut it off and cauterize it at the same time using a grinding disc.
That's how I trim rooster spurs.
Wait until he goes to roost at night, then snatch him off the roost. Then snuggly wrap a towel around him and have someone hold his legs to keep from kicking while you do the grinding, wont take but a few seconds. Then put him back on the roost. You're done.
