Yeah i weighed 2 eggs the other nite and both were over 80 grams !!
I will steal the wifes kitchen scales and see if i can weigh her !!!

Nice!! then Im pretty sure you got full size then Saxonies lay lovely big eggs.
I use a kitchen scale too not to weigh the ducks though

Hi guys! It’s been a while!
I wanted to share an update on my saxonies. I hatched several ducklings out this spring and ended up with one that quacks but came out of her molt with drake coloring and a sex feather.
I’ll try to find the video I took last month of ‘her’ quacking it’s so bizarre.

Yeah this is her before the molt, and she still quacks. I’d like to vent sex to see if there’s male anatomy.

Not thought I know if, but you can take a guess by how loud they talk and how much.

Me and wife have a running bet about the sex of my 3 week old duckling .. i named her lucy but might need to rethink the name if its a boy
The wife insists she can see the darker colours coming through on lucy's head

On an unrelated topic .. Lucy's mother has gone back to roost leaving lucy to fend for herself at nite so unsure if putting her in the adjoining box with glw and babies will be enough to keep lucy warm at nite

I am on day 26 of hatching more saxonys and i just found a fresh duckling ... i saw a piece of egg so had a better look ... still very wet so must be only couple of hours old at best !!!
