At my new job there’s a chicken coop. They have one chicken left after the second to last died recently. I was told it was from old age; it was about five years old, as is the remaining one. I went to see the remaining chicken yesterday and her legs looked strange to me. An online search led me to suspect scaly leg mites, but I don’t know if some chicken breeds are supposed to have this kind of legs or if it’s something else. I don't know what breed this is. I also haven’t experienced scaly leg mites or any other chicken leg problems so I really don’t know anything except that the legs looked strange to me. What do you think and do you have any suggestions?
