Wow, alot have I stirred. First of all with out belaboring the point, if an immigrant landed on our shores and say visited the Washington DC area and say they took the time to read some inscriptions say on the Washington monument and then they wandered over to the Capital building in time for the inauguarl prayer lead by an ordained minister, then they stroll on over to the Lincoln memorial and see the mural of the ANGEL of truth freeing slaves then they find a coin with wording In God We Trust then they say oh I don't know maybe watch the swearing in of the President with the aid of a Bible then they visit the Statue of Liberty and see the Roman numerals depicting the date of our Declaration of Independence (I think that subject has been covered) thenthey visit the Supreme Court and see the Ten Commandments etched along side Moses on the entrance and on the doors and above where the Chief Justice sits. Now does anyone wanna guess what the immigrant thinks about what our countries moral origins are? Our founding fathers crafted the Declaration of Indepence as representatives of 13 colonies with their views and beliefs. I hardly think that these inscriptions andcountless other were put in place by mere chance. Aquaeyes you must of missed those facts.
A little something I found
James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement "We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."
Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said, "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ".
Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.
Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.
Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law....an oligarchy....the rule of few over many.
The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said, "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers."
