It took me a while to find her but I did. There are the “shake ya tail feathers” of my little old Gabby. How in the world did you notice her?

She was supposed to be named “Dot,” after one of my grandmothers, but early on the dang bird would NOT shut up. That is when her name was changed to GABBY. She is a gorgeous bird and being that I am a feather hoarder, hers are the first I go after. I don’t have a freaking clue what I’ll do with ALL my sorted feathers, but I have them if I ever figure it out.
The old Gabster has since been replaced by my PITA Dominicker as the most vocal bird, but she is still a sweetheart. (I have no idea what that white line is in front of her eye.)

She is a master worm gatherer. Since I’ve been working on this coop, every time I move a piece of wood that I’ve had laying on the ground for a couple of days, she is there and “all ova that ground.” These birds amaze me at how they can pull a worm straight out of a hole without a hitch. Me? Nope, they hang in that hole so tight I pinch them in two.
Ralphie, do you like the Speckled Sussex breed?
Oh, and thank you for the bonafide compliment on the coop!
