Quick question.... I'm so new to this :hmm
I assisted one that pipped in the middle, this baby cries constantly so I'm even more anxious than normal :( but anyways, she pipped and zipped and then made no headway for hours, I helped her out with warm wet washcloths and upped the humidity. Theres no blood, she looks great, but shes crying like crazy and looks like she cant uncurl her neck/head. Her eyes are open and shes kicking like crazy, flapping her wings, but stays in a ball. Does anyone know, will this fix itself or am I looking at something more serious? Her head and neck are moving, shes cheeping, opening her eyes, moving her beak, but keeps curling up. Maybe she thinks shes still in the egg? Here's a pic, her brother is crying too, hes trying to help...

I wouldn't stress out, my mal positioned one sometimes didn't uncurl until anywhere from 4-24 hours later, usually they are dried and fluffy and can still fall over while they learn to stand, walk control their body parts, Mine our out 2 days and they complain a lot, but found they settle at night if I put a towel over them and they at least quiet down, the smallest one that had most trouble hatching is now a tattle tale on the others for pecking at her, she chirps cause someone throws straw in the waterer and anything else the little diva can complain about lol, Newly hatched chicks do chirp a lot, mine at 2 days old would rather be taken outside under close supervision then make me chase em for about 30 minutes until they start chilling or the adult flock scares them, but already don't want the light on at all, once hatch is complete or up the humidity a bit and take her out ya can kinda lightly rub the neck but it should straighten out on it's own they seem a little stiffer longer than one that wasn't mal positioned

what are the silver ones your hatching ? they are so dang cute all of them but I'm really liking the silver ones
I don't really know! The lady I got the eggs from has Olive Eggers, EEs, Marans and Ameraucanas. A couple Leghorns, Sussex and a Red Sexlink. 2 Salmon Faverolles too. I belive she has some naked necks too. Pat of the year she has most of the breeds separated but I got the mixed breeds of the ones mentioned above. I'll post pictures once they fluff up and see what you guys guesses are.
