When did it make it first pip. I just noticed one of my 6 has a pip. It’s 1:40 am in nj. I noticed it at 1:00am. I’m a mess. I can’t sleep. It’s not moving or anything it just have a small pip. No chirping either
After the first pip they usually take a nap for a few hours, that pip takes a lot of effort :)

I first noticed the pip at 6am, and I didn't hear anything until it had made an obvious hole through the membrane and its beak was poking through, that was around 8am. Then it started peeping quite loudly. I reckon it's almost finished it's zipping now and it's got one foot out! The time now is 4pm. So it's taking its time this little one, but it seems pretty strong and it has some loud peeping going on. It's so lovely watching mumma with it, she just watches and coos to it every now and again and tilts her head.

Good luck with your little hatch, I guess all we can do now is wait. Maybe try and get some sleep

Yes, some of them can be pretty talkative while they are hatching, and afterward's too. As long as they are peeping, you know that they are alive I guess.

Oh thanks. A second one pipped but the first one haven’t make any progress. I don’t know if the noise is coming from the first or second one. I’m going to leave them alone but it’s not easy. Oaissing back and forth

I don't even care that my hatch rate was only 1/6 I still got a baby!! She's such a good mumma.
That’s adorable. I have the same chicken. I’m hatching this babies for her. She kept breaking them so I took them away from her. I bought my eggs from a local farm. They are supposed to be RIR
