Well we have 4 little eggs in our incubator as of this morning set to hatch on the 29th. Hoping for a 50% hatch rate, although we usually have good luck with our Brinsea. Fingers crossed!

The only thing I hate about the combo I'm hatching is the NHR crosses I hatch the eggs are so super thick I usually have to assist hatch those every time...grrr

I once read a post where the person would decrease oyster shell slightly before they wanted to set eggs so that the chicks would have an easier time hatching. I can't remember exact amounts or anything but it sounded plausible?

I am always interested in what others are doing.
I have only been incubating for 2 years so I do not claim to be an expert. I am always game to hatch something but not an expert.
I am still mesmerized with what could come out of that egg

I have enjoyed mine..... during really cold months I have still drag out the heat bulb......less cold I can get away with a ceramic one that is less watts, but in summer I go with just the heat pad( mine must not be as good as some folks I have read?) I do feel they aclamate better with the heat pad and are ready to go outside sooner

I really didn't expect this many because all my hens and my top are molting I still have more to go!

That's an interesting insight. Probably because they're out in the "weather" when not under the hp vs the light heating the whole area but warmest right under it.
