September Hatch-A-Long!

Well we put 13 eggs in lockdown tonight and put the other 5 under our silkie broody (she has been insisting on sitting on 3 infertile eggs, so we figured we would let her have some babies for her efforts). Here is hoping the next 72 hours goes well!

My 32 chickies are in lockdown now. I marked and then put the aircell so it is up when I laid them on their sides. I just went back to check humidity and temps. Some of them have rolled over. I have them in individual cupcake liners so they don't break each other open through their efforts. Do I move them back or just leave them be?

I put my first turkey eggs in lockdown today. 4 Red Bourbon. 2 had already pipped internally, I think I saw 1 move and the last I saw no movement put I put it in anyway, just in case.

angie can you get a picture of it's comb? from here looks like a girl

I can try to get a pic when I get home. I'm pretty sure it's a boy though. It is a polish crested cross (don't know who the dad is). This ones mom and aunt hatched out 16 of the same mix earlier this year. Every baby that had a comb at hatching was a male and all the ones without a comb were females (I know this since I still have all of them and they were hatched in the first week of June.

The mom is a polish crested and the dad is either a buff Orpington, Easter egger, or a white Plymouth Rock.

Hi, Just leave them, they will be fine on their own and will likely get rolled around a bit as some hatch.
Opening the incubator during lock down can cause big problems.....Good Luck
