September Hatch-A-Long!

I have 8 pips!! 2 are the wrong end and their in a carton so I took them out and laid them in the side 1 looks like he pipped the yolk what are his chances (he's still zipping and peeping)

Scary...how is it doing? Keep us posted...:fl Chirp

Max asked for eggs benedict for breakfast. I don't have the ingredients. So maybe scrambled and toast instead. I need to start making oatmeal.

I am trying not to be a chicken hoarder. I know I can't take care of a large number properly so last night I gave one of my outside chickens to a friend that really likes her. Today another one is going to her too. I am taking a bunch that I hatched to another friend as well. So by the end of the day I will be about 30 chicks lighter. Sad and happy at the same time. I will be able to take care of the ones I want better. Next weekend I am selling some as well. I will still need to sell some silkies, that will be hard. Max is staying of course.

We have some progress! She is in there chirping away and trying to chip away at her pip! If I only get the one it's all worth it! Day 25 is a charm!
Good news. I've got to tend to the chicken pens for a bit. Then, going to set the eggs in the 'bator on lock down.....soo, here we go again! :fl
By the way, Ms. Clessie and her 8 are doing great, thankfully. Chirp

Last night was the end of day 14. My little game hen egg was doing backflips (I swear that's what it seemed to be doing. Little water Olympic baby) but the other 4 are to dark shelled to see so not sure but very hopeful.

Now if I could just figure out why two of my three 5-week olds suddenly hate each other and have to be seperated I'd be less stressed. Lol

Here is baby #2 he joined us last night a few hours after the first one. Still waiting on 4 more. So far I have one boy and one girl now. They're Rhode Island Red/Barred Rock crosses. From my research they're sex link babies. Black ones being girls and striped ones being the boys. We named the boy Simon because he looks like a chipmunk and the black one is Jelly because she got jealous when Simon was getting all of the attention. They are so adorable. Im hoping the rest are girls being I now have 3 boys in my flock. We shall see. Still gotta check my broody today to see if I have some new surprises under her.:D
