My rooster who was a RIR went broody and hatched all 12 eggs he then left it up to the hens to raise the babies cause he had to be the "man" of the roost again

Really? Non-broody hens were willing to raise chicks? Are you sure the hens weren't broody, and, come to that, could they have been the hatchers?

I know it was my rooster because he has 3 inch spurs and he sits really weird too. and my one brahma was going broody so instead of him leaving the to fend for themselves she took over and raised them. I still have him because he knows how to protect his girls

Pics? I have had hens with spurs, large ones. What do you mean 'sits weird'?

Our roo used to sit on eggs. We always assumed he was just a bit chilly he only sat on the eggs straight after they’d been laid.

His toes and legs are formed weird so he sits with his one leg out and his toes curled under
