Set eggs 4/6, EDD 4/27 & 4/28...wanna hatch with me??

I candled a few of my eggs tonite (only day 6). I could see what seems to be detached air sac in a couple. I saw 1 good, definate, obvious black eye. Some light veining but the yolk appeared to move when turning the egg (yolk not in the circle shape like when you crack an egg open) in other eggs.
Im not positive about any of them other then the 1 with the obvious eye, so I left them all. I can usually tell by day 5, so I dunno.

My goose eggs on the other hand, are so dark and barely able to see through, but could see shadows of movement in the air sac area.
The bad thing is, Im not sure when I started bating them and when they are supposed to hatch. And really, I hadnt kept up on turning them much.

I didnt expect much since I had read they were harder to hatch. And they have been in the stupid LG, with wide temp spikes! O yikes! Am I going to have deformed geese??
We started out with 7 eggs given to us, 3 were eaten, 4 went into bator. Along the way, 1 didnt develop and 1 stopped developing. So 2 left.

Sounds like the geese are close to hatching then...no idea when you started them? Maybe should up humidity for a bit just in case?

sounds like you get little goslings soon

I have kept the humidity decent throughout...not dry. Thought I had read they needed higher humidity then chickens, so I have more sponges in there and have spritzed inside of bator throughout.
My guess would be maybe set March 19. That seems so long ago.
They take 29-32 days dont they?
I didnt have room in my hovabator for them with last hatchings and then resetting this time, which is why they are in LG and which is why I really didnt think they would make it this far!!

im waiting on my goslings now im in lockdown i had 2eggs looking full full and one that looked a little smaller but i was told to keep it in just incase it was just extremely curled up what breed are your eggs

I have no idea what breed! A lady in a local town gave me a doz chicken eggs (which recently hatched) and all the goose eggs that my kids found while we were there.
I didnt set them at the same time though, which is why Im not sure of EHD.
What breed are yours?

Mine are embden goose eggs they woman i got them off told me they where pure breed but talking to some people on here they say most of the embdens are crosses now

any body candle yet? I am going to candle friday today the temp spiked to 102 I was at work and came home to find that!! I am sick over it.It has been at 100 for the past week.Do you notice the temp going up as the eggs develope?

So out of the 14 I think are alive in this batch, I have a candling question. Only one of them you can REALLY see the eye and see it movin' and groovin'...

Many of the others, you can't see the embryo, but there is a ton of veining everywhere. Every now and then I can see a slight shadow in that veining move on some of them - big enough to be the embryo, but it's not easy to see like the one egg. I'm thinking the embryo may be sitting up top very close to the air cell which is why I can't see it like I can see it on the one (other than the embryo, everything else looks the same in all the eggs - lots and lots of veining, eggs getting more opaque.....) Do you think that all sounds okay?

oh and on a side note, another one of my batches (I'm staggering but have another hovabator on the way) that is scheduled for a week later - I have 7 shipped BC maran eggs, and it looks like there's something going on in six of them... hard to see, but there's something in there!
