Setting 7/21 - should be due on 8/10 anyone else?

Was hoping for another pip this morning - but none

the other 3 eggs are just lying there. It's technically Day 20. The hatched guy is so lonely looking and huddled against it's broken shell. I figured I would move him out of the brooder this afternoon especially since he doesn't seem to be fluffing up.

How do you "mist" the other eggs when you open the bator?

Congrats everyone on your new babies! I feel kind of behind lol. My eggs go into lock down tonight at midnight so hopefully I will have some little ones soon too.

I was thinking that I may have to move mine (when they actually come out of the shells) to the brooder to dry, it's quite humid in my incubator as well. I have one trying to zip, been pipped since lunch yesterday

and at least 3 more pipping now. Can't wait to get home this afternoon and watch the action. I will get some pics up as soon as we get a chick. Good luck to all Happy Hatching!

So I am WAY behind all of you, don't go into lockdown until next Tuesday, hatch day is the 19th, due to the guinea eggs I set first, which take an extra 5-6 days.

Anyway, I wanted to say that I have been advised to not open the bator AT ALL until the hatch is totally done, day 22 or 23, because, even if its just to take out hatched chicks, you lower the humidity and compromise the hatch. Thats why it is called lockdown. I think I lost the 4 to 6 chicks that died last hatch due to this. They say, even if you can't see a lower humidity, it can harm the eggs that are left. You know that chicks don't need to eat or drink for 48 to 72 hours after hatching b/c of absorbing the yolk. And my babies were not drying well, either. So next time, I am (going to try) not to open the bator at all, and see if my hatch is any better (last time, I got 12 out of 44 eggs, healthy fuzz butts, lost 6, 2 of which made it out of the bator, but died 2-3 days later) all but 18 shipped eggs, (18 I went to pick up 150 miles away)
