you CAN remove chicks IF you know what you're doing and how to get the humidity right back up to where it needs to be.. Just hatched out 41 quail.. i had the bator open after every third chick or so.. none were shrink wrapped.. none were sticky and all of the good eggs hatched without any problems .. the only eggs that didn't hatch were a few that were cracked when they were shipped to me and a couple clears.. so IF you know what you are doing you can open that bator as needed, Besides with quail they have to be out and eating within 24 hours of hatch.. they don't have the reserves that a chicken chick has.
Finally in lock down hopefully in a couple of days I will have some fuzzy butts of my own. That is if the power doesn't go out due to all the thunderstorms. We have been having quite a few doozies lately.
