Setting 7/21 - should be due on 8/10 anyone else?

I have a few that are due that day and some that are due after. Rather than incubating them myself I am letting my hens sit on them

I lost 2 hatches in my bator between June and July so I figure that they can't possibly do any worse than me.

Oh - I hope not.

i know, im going to leave them under her and see what happens. I dont want what happened last time to repeat, she was on the nest for 3 months before babies.
ETA - the 3 months was because my roo wasn't getting the job done and she wouldn't stop no matter what i did.

First candle late last night, already had spiders appearing in most, so looks good.

I will candle once more this weekend then leave em be. I am very pleased with my homemade incubator, it has held a consistant 99.5, and plenty of room inside.

The hardest part of this hatch is knowing that I should leave them alone and not candle all the time LOL! I'm waiting for Thursday to see if I have any development. I already had to toss the EE b/c it cracked and stunk. I moved several of them into areas of the bator based on what I thought I had & I only saw 3 with development at Day 3. But I won't toss them until I am sure there's nothing going on b/c my last batch with WL I had several "no developments" on Day 3 and they are the ones that are in my brooder now. So I'll just wait...and check on Thursay.

Well I candled tonight - I had decided if nothing was growing in the eggs I would quickly order another batch with extra cold packs and then sneak it into the bator before anyone noticed - HAHA! However, I found that out of the remaining 13 eggs -8 were clear and 5 were on target and growing. The white eggs are obvious b/c they are clear to see with my highpower flashlight. The darker eggs I am going on the difference between what I saw on Day 3 and today b/c they are harder to clearly see veining, etc.

So I am now hoping to hatch: (1) Welsummer, (1) Wheaten Penedesenca, (2) Ancona and (1) Ameraucana/Araucana.

I candled them last night and 2 of the 3 have growth and the EE egg looks like the yolk is broken inside the egg. so now i have a light brahma and BO crossed with a ameracauna.
