i still have 9 eggs i believe, under a broody hen. Now I have 6 eggs putting in the incubator in a few minutes from my moms 3 smaller ones and 3 jumbo eggs. I'm hoping they are all fertile. the rooster has been doing his job. This will check to see if he's a fertile roo or not. Winter chicks YAY

5 paint silkies and 3 showgirls plus 2 of my own silkie eggs went into lockdown this morning let the waiting begin 2nd batch goes in lockdown tomorrow morning consisting of everything that came out of my chicken coop for 4 days LOL, buff orp roo and Ameracauna Roo over buff orp, EE, slw, sexlinks, RIR hens about 38 eggs should be some interesting chickies from this combo

Well things are a bit iffy here.. I have 7 hatched, 3 pipped and two that are taking forever to hatch out of a batch of 41 eggs that reached
18 days. so far at best that 25% hatch rate. Humidity is 78% and temp is 99.3.. I'm hoping that they are just slow to hatch

one has been tweeting and half hatched for about 48hrs now i'm wondering if I need to intervene yet.

I would if its been 48 hours since pip.Dont think hes getting out himself this late. Has he made any progress th last 12 hours or so?

15 of 16 that made it to lockdown hatched

including my very first maran egg. had one mutt pip and die. It happens. Soon as they are dry i need to wipe down the hatcher add more water and move over the next set lol fun never ends

Marine i think you should get the top award for the most eggs set !!
You have been going steady with a TON of eggs since what about 2 months or 3 now?

Yay congrats! Im glad those late eggs are showing some good signs. And More YAYs for the new eggs coming. I want to odrer more eggs too Im nervous for shipped eggs though.

Yeah its a gamble but its fun to hatch breeds colors you have never seen and cant find near you....IF they hatch that is...If not.... its just like the casino... Gone bust.... and i have a few times too.I have never counted the money i have spent for how many i have hatched (and not hatched ) but i know my chickens should be born gold plated

I have 3 eggs that survied the temp spike they are doing really good.So maybe i will have some christmas babies.
