Setting and hatching in December? Come join us! - Holiday Season hatch-along

Guess i should post this someplace else but I am so ignorant when it comes to birds...Dogs cats im fine but birds?...hummm...
So when a roo mates a hen does it just take a second ?.Sort of fly up and get on her and off that quick ? Or do they stay for a minute or so to mate?
Anybody know?
2 of my roos have been jumping on the hens but only for seconds ...like 2 seconds or 1 no longer almost like they are running over them. or are they just practicing?

.
Only takes a couple seconds really lol, there is no grace to it luls

Yeah thats a little high. I aim for about 65% But as they start to hatch the humidity will go up on its own. I'd vent out a bit of the moisture. Good rule of thumb is if you have condensation inside the bator, the humidity is too high.
thank you!!! I took out a washcloth and its down to 77% I'm gonna try switching to a smaller dish of water and see if I ant bring it down a bit more

Just saw this thread. Is it too late to join? Congrats on all the chicks hatching!
I've got 8 white silkies going into lockdown on Saturday. So far they've all survived. Hoping for a Christmas morning surprise for the kiddos!
