between what i sold and what i culled about 40. not counting the batch that just hatched out. think thats another 18. ill have to double check when i move themWOW and double WOW. How many did you keep?

GOOD luck on your cochins and RIRs !My girls arn't yet old enough to lay. Can't wait till they are (not breeding them, just for eggs)They are 2 motnhs old and already huge! They are buff orpingtons. I can't wait untill the 20th wich is the day I check my shipped bantam cochin eggs for life. My Rhode Island Red eggs go on lockdown on the 20th as well. They are growing nicely!!

!Yeah me too.....my Lavender Orps are 17 weeks old and i cant wait.... SOO excited .... until they lay so i can hatch the eggs!!!
Hope my roo Sterling does a good job so far he isnt doing much at all but to be fair they were in with an Alpha Roo Midnight who was literally cock of the walk.Moved Midnight out yesterday(and he aint happy)
Hope Sterling gets more "cocky" now.

So when a roo mates a hen does it just take a second ?.Sort of fly up and get on her and off that quick ? Or do they stay for a minute or so to mate?
Anybody know?
2 of my roos have been jumping on the hens but only for seconds ...like 2 seconds or 1 no longer almost like they are running over them. or are they just practicing?
