Well the chick has made a bigger hole and is chirping so we shall see. My broody duck that is sitting on chicken eggs is doing well i see her turn them and she never leaves i have no idea how this will work out lol

ughhhh went out and the duck was trying to eat a egg that had a full grown chick in it. It was too late she had broken the shell and he was not ready to be born he had not absorbed the yolk at all. so i took the other 3 threw them in the bator so I will have to waite and see .

Well the silkie hatched and is doing great he is early but seems fine. She seems to be mixed i guess from my blk silkie hen and the white silkie roo. I have 4 more pips which i am happy for since 2 are from eggs that were in there with the others that hathed and got chick goo on them i did not expect them to hatch.

I'm preparing for lockdown on Sunday, I'm a little worried that my light might be too close to the bottom of my homemade bator. Do you think I should try to put some protective wire around it just in case a hatchling gets too curious?
