Setting Eggs Saturday April 20... anyone else?

I had to add water to the incubator today so I candled several eggs. Four out of the five I looked at had veins. Yay!

I candled again last night and my EE eggs look good but the Maran eggs are to dark to tell.

Candled tonite. Shipped eggs all were veining but one.

Having a hard time candling these eggs since they are a little spotted and brown. Most had clear veining, but one or two looked like they might have blood rings. . I'm going to leave them in and monitor them for signs of funkiness. Maybe in a few days it will be easier to see. Good luck to everyone candling this weekend!

I candled again last night and my EE eggs look good but the Maran eggs are to dark to tell.

I had a broody hen on marans and EE eggs last month. I just had to go by the air cell since it was all I could see. Turned out to be the only chick that survived of the three she successfully hatched.

i have 12 eggs that look great

- one I coud clearly see the heartbeat (or something moving anyway!) 3 clears......

I couldn't resist and popped an egg on the candler. I saw the baby chick moving. I think it was waving at me lol!!!! We're at the halfway point folks. The next 11 days better fly by!

Canyou help me I have a home made incubator and when im haching my eggs I have them tiped up and on the 18 day can I move them to a anew box and lay them down and can the eggs touch will there in the incubator please help pa bear

So you have your eggs sitting up, in a carton or something, in your incubator. On day 18 you would take them out and lay them on their sides in the incubator, unless you have another incubator set up for the hatching. They need to stay heated & humid all the way to the end. The eggs can touch - they will probably start rocking & moving around as they turn inside to get ready to pip.
