Setting eggs this week 19th Feb- 25th Feb

Hatching outside right now!!! Just went to check this morning on my outdoor barnyard mix which are hatching at present... 10 hatched (I have 2 broodies) One has 4 chicks, 3 with Campine markings and one black chick and 10 pipping, and about 4-6 with no movement, and the other hen has 6 chicks, 4 Campine marked (one has got a Faverolles mum, so has fuffy cheeks and feet!) and 2 black and 4 pipping and one unmoved!

Such exciting times! I can't wait as there is a couple of Pekin eggs pipping too!

Exciting, can't wait for my Wyandotte eggs next weekend!!!

I had a set back. My 4 year old raided my boody nest. All 15 gone! So I started over. I put 14 this time. Olive eggers, Black copper marans, and giant silver laced cochin with a splash maran over then was set on the 5th of March. The same mix was put in the incubator, 46 are in there. Set on the 3rd of March. So I'm hoping for a good hatch. I'll be over run with chickens soon lol

I set (8) BCM's,(7) Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons, (7) mixed Lavender Ameracaunas/Lavender Orpingtons late 3-7 (received all USPS) and (11) Delawares late 3-9 to same bator (didn't like doing this but couldn't/wouldn't hold my other eggs any longer. I understand my hatch rate will probably be lousy, and this is my first time incubating, but I'm still excited. We'll see. I also have day-old chicks coming (BCM's, Welsummers, Ameracaunas, and possibly Anconas & Delawares to round out the breeder's choice. I've never had chickens before. Looking forward to it.

Well my test run is complete I had three of the six eggs hatch successfully. One other egg I dropped and killed.(still kicking myself) The other two did not develop. Got them put in the brooder cage this afternoon and they are eating and drinking nicely.
