Setting my eggs tonight (April 10) Any tips?

Raimnel, I really want to see a pic of your ferocious silkie. Any peeping yet?

What about you Eastin? Did you get any sleep? You might consider stocking up on antacids:p

My second bator is running stead. Humidity is 67% with both resevoirs filled. (? little too much?).

Well,
Have my humidity at 53... seems determined to stay there even with water in there.

Hey all. Our eggs are 18 days today and they are under a broody. Can we move her and her nest down lower tonight? She is in a raised nest and I lost track of time. Will it rattle the eggs? Will she abandon them? We have a little enclosure made for her that she can see out of but the chicks can't escape and the other 2 hens and rooster can't bug her or the chicks. I'll be watching for an answer. Getting excited now!!

you should of seen her a second before the picture snapped, I thought she was going to rip ME a new one. She came charging off the nest right up the door. I ran my poor son over getting my hand hell outta there.

Oooh she is mad.

I had to bathe a broody silkie yesterday.

I now know what the term madder then a wet hen means.

Still nothing yet with the eggs in the incubator, but it's day 20 today. I'm not worried yet. Last hatch, nothing started until day 21. So, I'll just try to keep myself busy, and hopefully I won't have to bathe a broody silkie today. That was quite a project yesterday.
