Setting the week of August 22 (or so... ) Everyone join!! You know you want to!

Oh oh! What's this? Can I be added?
I'll put some info just in case I can.
Hovabator genisis 1588 with turner "catdance silkie eggs. Eggs set on 8-24
Set 36 eggs discarded 20 that never developed.
Denise661 I noticed you weren't on this list, which is one of the reasons I reposted it :) Texasmja, can you add Denise661?

only 18. I know they usually don't hatch/pip now, but i swear I heard chirping last night and even a bit this morning. It wasn't my bantams though. No blood seen, and they're fairly small holes and the humidity is 60%
Odd... phantom chirping. LOL!

I got my first external pip this morning! Glad I went into lockdown yesterday afternoon :) The pip is one of the silver laced wyandottes.

When I locked down, the only air cells that didn't look convincingly advanced were the Marans. I'm guessing they have quite thick shells? Should I expect an on-time or late hatch from those? I might go find a Marans thread.

Good luck everyone

for all the babies.

So do you keep turning on day 18 or is your last turning on day 17? I am so confused with these early hatchers.

LOL ikr "phantom churping" lol !! Quick question : When the eggs go completely black how long should it be till they pip? Cause I have 3 "blackouts" so far. From what I've noticed, pips seem to happen late night or early morning. And there's something about 4:00AM that gets em goin lol !

Day 17 is the last day of turning. Stop after that !

1st clutch day 22 despite me messing around with the eggs when I should just keep my **** hands to my self, everything seems to be progressing, slowly, but everyone still seems ok. Only the 3 have pipped still waiting on the other 3. I think 2 of them may be unzipped by morning but the one with the side air sac prob won't come out until tomorrow afternoon. she has got her beak through the membrane and is breathing. I added more water and the humidity topped out at 70%

I'm wondering if my temps are to low in the hovabator? I've used 4 diff thermometers and they all read different. I had a glass thermometer sitting on the eggs until it fell and got broke. It always stayed at 99.5 while a digital that was in there at the same time said 95.something. Another digi I tried reads around 97.3 and a meat thermo says it's about 98. Grrr....Why can't things work the way they are meant to?!

Anyways,
2nd clutch 5 eggs is on day 15 all looking good when candled last night and the 3rd clutch, 21 eggs is on day 9. I candled them as well and think prob 4 are no good so I moved them to another spot in the bator to keep an eye on them. We'll see how they are doing at day 14.

Day 17 according to the calendar is coming to a close. I am in lock down mode. If I had consulted my calendar earlier today I think I would have stopped turning today. Airsacs are so funky I hope they can turn to where they need to be. Also I left one in an egg carton but now I am second guessing myself. Do they hatch alright standing big end up? Do the babies just fall out from the carton? I also added wet wash cloths to help keep the humidity up. 3 Days will be hard for me to keep the humidity up with as dry as it is here.
