Is it the same bird or two different birds? Pic one looks like a pullet. Pic two looks like a cockerel. How old are they?

I agree with Violet that, assuming they are about the same age, the first is a pullet and second cockerel.

The one in question - I would assume pullet unless the comb becomes redder

Thanks, I think it might be pinking up, early maturing pullet? Or late maturing cockerel? I've noticed the boys are more muscular too, this one seems to be muscular

I am having trouble sexing my six week old Cochins too, but I'd say pullet.

I could use some help. I ordered 6 eggs from a breeder, 3 Columbian Cochins & 3 White. I noticed that the Columbian eggs were a tad larger and darker in color . I hatched out 2 Whites and 2 Columbian, the Columbian are larger chicks and seem to mature faster.
This is my first time to hatch Bantam Cochins, they are 8 weeks and I still cant tell the boys from the girls! (Much easier with large breed). Is it normal for one color to be larger than another. I will post pictures today.
