He's fairly sweet and will let us pick him up. He also will take treats from our hand. Disappointed that I'll have to find him a new home. We live in town and are attempting to keep our chickens a secret.

Anybody know how long I can keep him with the girls before it's a problem? Not sure how long it will take to find him a new home. We have had him 11 weeks and the store said they are 1 week old when they receive them.

It depends on the rooster really. I've had roosters crow as early as 6 weeks and as late as 8 months. It could be anyday really, and once he finds his voice, he will crow all day everyday. I've had a lot of luck rehoming roosters on Craigslist and I would put an ad up for him.

No worries :) Mr. Roo went to live in the country today with a friend of ours so we will be able to still see him and he can crow freely! Yay!
