She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Nope, you got us bass-ackards man! I'm closer to blue, except for my candling addiction, which won't change. I'll get more blue with the Brinsea probably.

Its been running for about an hour and holding steady temp, and 30% RH with no water. And I unplugged that horrid sounding humidity pump. If I need it for hatching, I can add it then, but I think I'll be fine without it this time of year.

You might have done this already, but you need to prime the water tubing so it's full before you use the humidity pump. If not, it runs and runs and runs and runs trying to get the water to the incubator, and it only pushes out a drop at a time. I put water in one channel and then it only came on once in a while, usually when I opened up to rotate the tray. The pad does take up some room though - that I don't like.

I noticed the temp set is every .2 degrees. Do you use 99.4 or 99.6? Or something else?

And another question.. do you use the foam strips that go between the metal rails? Looks like they came with the pump, but I think I'll use them.

I'll be surprised if I get any sleep tonite. I'm so excited!

I changed mine to Celsius, and set it at 37.5

I like the foam strips, and used them to cushion the eggs between the rails. I also used them on the ends because I overstuffed the bator last time.

Makes me wish I was hatching so bad!

Miracle has splayed legs. She is wearing the bandaid fashion accessory. Back down the bra. Appears more content. Have to keep taking her for food and water breaks. Not very good at either yet. I don't like the thought of her being in the brooder all alone. Will give her another couple of drops of the nutri drench when she goes to bed.

I unplugged the pump. Can I just leave it off, or does it have to be hooked up?

Foam strips? Is that limited to Advance?

I think they came with the pump but not sure, since mine had been used once.

Lol I had already forgotten the blue kote incident! :gig

I prefer to call it indigo - a beautiful dark purplish blue.  Mostly blue, but a little red in it to warm the tone a bit.

Exactly :highfive:

Well, this makes me feel pretty bad for #13. :(

#13 was my assisted hatch. I thought it needed an AH due to shrinkwrap b/c of the faulty humidity gauge.  Ended up it was a fairly moderate splay leg.  He could walk, but was really off balance.  We did our best with the bandaids, closing the gap a little every day.  Separated him with one other chick to keep him company and checked his progress daily.  He was very loud and woke me cheeping multiple times a night.  Just wanted attention, I guess, he was warm, and fed and watered when I would check on him.  He was precious, but the gap between his legs seemed to be getting wider each day when we changed the bandaids out.  We continued to lessen the gap a little every day and he got around just okay with it on, but when we would take it off, he could barely stand.  Yesterday afternoon, we found him face down in the feed. :/   He was gone.

I even cut small holes in glad ware type lids to prevent him from drowning in the feed, but it didn't work.  I feel just awful still.

Anyhow, that's why I have been thinking blue lately.  Makes me feel selfish, but we really did all we could possibly do and he still didn't make it. :he

Aww, I'm sorry. I know how you feel. I questioned an assist once. When it looked like the chick was dying, I wondered if I should have just let her die in the shell. I questioned if I would ever do an assist again. But then the chick miraculously pulled through. And she is great. So I it confirmed for me that it's worth the try. Even if you can save them all, you try and maybe it all works out for the best. :hugs

So hopefully I'll have as good a hatch as you. :)

Will be late tomorrow evening (probably 9-10pm) before I get home with eggs, but I will probably set them when I get in anyway.

I'll be surprised if I get any sleep tonite. I'm so excited!

I can't wait for you to get the eggs!!
