I'm trying to be creative about the coop and run I am planning so that 1) I can reuse items I own or buy for cheap and 2) my yard doesn't look like it has chickens in it. Here are some of my ideas.

Tractors: (imagine these items on wheels and with a wire frame around the base)

• Garden bench with wire around the base
• Lawn lounge chair, laid flat... with cushion on it when shade is needed
• Picnic or patio table

PLEASE feel free to critique if any are actually inappropriate for any reason.

I have a friend in town here in guelph she has 2 chickens and every few months she will "board" her chickens here when by-law gets to close and then take her girls home...thank goodness i have a large boeeder in my basement to allow chicken sleepovers...

Surprised this isn't a bigger forum, as it appears many around the US and elsewhere are trying to get chickens approved!

Crazy, as in the US it use to be rare NOT to have chickens, at least 100-150 years ago, everyone had them!

Seems the complaints or reasons chickens are not allowed is either because of noise or smell/waste from chickens! Which, in reality shouldn't be issues!

A few websites out there that seem to indicate that these are not or should not be issues, I will post shortly!

I have neighbors that had a daughter that went to coolage and was crying over leaving because she couldent see the chickens anymore. But these are the same people that went after a dog with a stick that came in and was killing my chickens. Lol. Any of the rest of them can go pound sand. My Chickens arnt as loud as I can be idk somone driving by mus have thrown the fireworks in my yard. I haven't a clue what happend! I heard it so I came out.

I can hear the neighbors screaming at each other and then hear them calling for their dog to come home within the next hour! Clear as the "noon whistle" at lunch, and we have great distances along with trees between our homes!

Then, the leaf blower, the chainsaw, the lawn mower, weed whacker...electric trimmer, 4 wheeler, ...!,, Why these neighbors have more power tools that make noise than 6 little hens could ever make!

And the hens don't use any gas, plus they Bless us with eggs, fertilizer, entertainment and SO much More!

I've been wanting chickens for years. I used to raise them but life moved away from that lifestyle and I had to move to the city. I've been thinking about some secret chickens as it is illegal here. They are considered barnyard animals and will bring disease. Oh brother! After finding this website I'm gonna do it!!! I love the idea of a trashcan as a coop, and the ground-dwelling parrot! Now to get my sneak on---
