Aww yay so exciting! I have one in the incubator now! 1 down 3 to go!

Your babies are adorable too - don't you just love them so much!? 🥰

Your little lagger may have not made it under her mum either - I doubt it's anything you have done looking at how the rest of the babies are hatching just fine. That is the heart breaking thing about hatching. You want them all to make it and sometimes they just don't.

Here are a couple of photos of our two hatchlings (the others I'm not expecting to do anything until at least tomorrow). They have been transferred to the brooder which looks enormous with just two littlies in there. I might block them up one end for tonight.

At the moment they are just called what their eggs were labelled as. The lady I got the eggs from had given me three from each of the three nests her hens were making. So there was the Front nest (which F2 was from), the Side nest (which S2 was from), and the Back nest which are the three I'm waiting on still, but those three eggs are massive (I'm hoping for a girl from one of those to lay me massive eggs).

This is F2 who hatched all by herself

And little S2 who needed help but is perfectly perfect. It likes to jump which is hilarious.

Yes! I love them so much! I moved 3 to a temp brooder yesterday (I wanted them to still have a comfy towel in a small area) as they hatched from 12am-5:30am. I have 4 in the bator still.. I recandled the one who didn’t internally pip last night and this morning- I was tapping the egg this time and think I see movement- however this morning there was a semi- dark film spot shaped like a cloud on a 1/4 of the area in the air sac? But again I just tapped and I swear I see movement, so I’m still hopeful! As I’m writing you- #8 is beginning to zip and started the through and through hole and is about 1 1/2” zipped through already! #7 was on her feet the moment she popped out and she’s up with the others like she’s been out this entire time- aside from her needing to dry, you would have no idea she just hatched!
Your babies are just too adorable! I’ve been holding mine and playing with them- they come right to me when I put my hand in the brooder or bator! I’ve talked to them for WEEKS during candles, misting, adding water to bowl and just sitting at the bator during their incubation period. During all their hatches I was rooting them on, so they should definitely know my voice at minimum! Mine are #’s in order of the way they pipped, starting at “Safety Hole”, then 1-5, then 7-10 ( I accidentally skipped 6, but when I realized I decided not to change anything so there was no confusion). OMGosh, yours jump already too!!! Mine was only 9 hours old and she was already on top of this huge firm sponge that I have in a shallow bowl. It’s 4” high and she was on it and jumping across the bator like batman, landing to perfection and ping pong zooming (running) all over the bator! That’s when I decided the first three were just much stronger than the other 2 and the one that had just hatched at the time and I needed to get those first 3 out before someone got hurt! Are yours really active yet?? My first 3 are so loud banging in the temp brooder- you’d think I had month old puppies!! Lol!! And they’re peeps echo through the house and all the way upstairs! (This house is 4000 sf so that’s pretty far).

Thank you for keeping me updated!! I look forward to hearing more about your journey and seeing more cute fuzzy pictures!! Has anything changed since your last reply?? Feel free to update me as often as possible even if I don’t get a message, just keep sending if you’re excited to share your experience! I’m a happy listener, enjoying your story!!! I don’t mind coming back to many posts!!! In fact, it warms my heart to see everyone’s comments, updates, pictures and likes, loves & laughs!!

Really!!! OMGosh! So nice to hear your hatching too!!! Wishing you the best with your hatch💜

Quick Update: Duckling #8 is zipping now!!! I have #9 who added to the external pip but she was a late internal pipper so I expect another 8 hours at minimum from her! (I call them all “she/her” for some reason?!! Lol!)
FYI: I numbered everyone in order of the way they internally pipped! :jumpy

Thank you!!! :love I’m so gladI’ve got 8/10 right now- #9 on the way- I’m not sure if #10 will internally pip & hatch- but I’ll let her go another few days. I don’t have the heart to give up any time soon and I think I may have actually seen movement this morning.. so we’ll see. If not-and #9 hatched- I’ll still have a 90% hatch rate, which isn’t too bad. I just want them ALL though!
