I've been reading her thread. I have a heating pad but it shuts off after about an hour. I could get a ceramic emitter but so far the light has been ok except for the switch breaking. We have a lot of safety precautions in place to make sure it won't fall into the box but it does make me nervous too. I sure don't want to burn the house down! Even if I had a heating pad that would work, once they go in the garage they would need the bulb anyway. I don't think a heating pad would be able to keep up with our temps. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep them in the basement but by the end of march it'll still be getting down into the teens at night. If I manage to keep them in for 3 weeks it'll only be in the lower 20's unless mother nature suddenly decides to turn the furnace on!
