Haha! Am guessing (A) or he likes a tummy rub?Heheh. Had to practice getting pictures off this computer while hubby is still here to help me when I get lost in stupid Windows 8.
Freckle, the gold sexlink, is inspecting the Serama gang. She looks like a giant!
What happened to Donut in this pic?
a) He was in the middle of performing his "roll over" command.
b) He was scared stiff when a big hawk flew over.
c) He was hypnotized and turned into a chicken zombie.
Just beautiful! I would love to look at that in the mornings. Here are a few pics from the Marin headlands. Most of the other photos have goofy people in them!
San Francisco is right of the GG bridge. The Pacific tides surge into and out of the bay under the bridge, making it one of the more dangerous spots around to be in the water (even after eliminating the factors of 55* water and great white sharks around).
You can't see them, but here are a bunch of harbor seals down on the rocks and swimming around too. Arf arf arf! You can see how dry the hills are. It's never exactly lush or anything, but this is the lowest amount of rain on record for the season to date.
The land over there is on the other side of the bridge and south of the city. Somewhere in the foggy area off to the right (where you might just be able to make out the land mass) is the small town of Pacifica, where hubby and I lived before moving back up north to be closer to family. We had a lovely ocean view from our house, on the 3 days out of the year that the ocean was visible! Locally, Pacifica is known for its yearly street festival called the Fog Fest. No sun screen required.![]()
I'll try to do a better job taking pics to show you what its like around here. Got to play around with the camera and try some different exposures.
yep, those pics are from yesterday, the grass is still mostly green, few brown spots... but it was gorgeous yesterday, the sunshine was very welcome!
lindz, that pup... your kids... so precious! glad you are all on the mend! just in time to celebrate the New Year!
I have 5 Eggs so far today, and Marans, Cosette was sitting on last check. so... I have these eggs, and I have eggs from earlier in the week, and I have 4 eggs from the other day when I knew I had 5 but one eaten...and the yolky eggs needed washing. well... one of the ickiest was pink, so I was happy, another 13 month old had resumed... well... it's not. it's the lightest shade that isn't white I've seen. I do believe I got my fist Cochin egg! it's not so small that I would immediatley have put 2 n 2 together when I collected it... but I have another exactly like it from today! a lovely new shade for my pallet. I have pics, will upload later. I need 2 dozen for tomorrow, and I've got it with 3 left over plus Cosette's and any other that I haven't collected yet... I haven't gotten an egg from the Fosters since the first week, think they've been here for almost a month now... they should start again soon (I hope)
it has been raining for a couple of hours and it is just at this very moment turning over to snow. we're only due to get an inch.

Love seeing the other side of the coast! I'm about 10 miles from the east coast! Here are a few pics from the Marin headlands. Most of the other photos have goofy people in them! Clindz, we are about 20 miles from the ocean. Most of the northern California coast is rocky and rugged. Beaches are small and steep, good for walking, too cold and dangerous for swimming. I think it's very beautiful. Hope it doesn't fall into the Pacific!
Cheeka, my 12 year old (Mustacheio) is the Chicken Whisperer. Donut hopped up as soon as I got the shot, but if he's being held, he will stay entranced for quite a while. I've got to get the kid to work on calming the crazy Leghorn!
To whom are you referring? I am not crazy, just energetic.

Yes, but she definitely has a blind spot on that side. Insurance was too high, so we had to take her driver's license away.

you 2 crack me up! but seriously, I bet he could make her swoon too. do it enough and she might just start to mellow out... could take months of one or two sessions a day... it would be an interesting experiment.
