Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Lindz to me the first one looks like a pullet, but what does she look like compared to her siblings or flock mates of the same age. The last one that your calling a pullet, I think is a boy but I know nothing. I still have a little boy with a mystery chick that I am starting to think might be a boy too.

I really don't know ages of any of these guys... I have guesstimates. They were a mixed bunch of chicks that my dad got to take to the fair as prize chicks

, and then he decided that they were too big when he got some day old chicks from a hatchery. So these guys ended up at my house. This was the last week of June and they ranged from 1 week (my 2 brooder babies) to about 4 or 5 weeks I am guessing.
The bigger black cochins are the oldest , they were pretty much feathered when I got them. The others were starting to feather out.



These two stay off to themselves and are about the same age, and maybe even the same breed.... (NO CLUE!) They both have black eyes, black legs, and their feathers are black with the green sheen.


ETA: the first one does have a few feathers on its feet, where the second doesn't.

I would wait until tomorrow NIGHT...slide them under her after everyone else is sleeping and hopefully adoption goes well. I would think one day they won't need anything since they can survive without food/water for three days. Also it gives #4 time to hatch if it is going to. Did you notice any pips on the remaining egg?

I guess I will know when I either hear them crow or see them lay an egg!

I can't see any pips on the fourth egg but this really happened fast tonight. Noticed one pip....then another....then a slight bulge in the third egg..... then noticed the pip on the third egg. But like cheeka said this is only day 20. So there is time. Will leave them alone tonight. Give them to RK tomorrow. Thanks for the advice

Three chicks and a pip at 5:18 AM. Looks like I might be 4 for 4.

Will check on RK Broody at daylight. Forgot to mention.........I got a young man (trying) to crow. Pretty ugly but he is trying. It is the king size Delaware Roo.

those first weeks of crowing are comical... the sounds the boys can make are quite "off", but I really like it. there is quite the chorus of boys sounding off here right now!

I will give them to her tonight. Looks like RK Broody has at least four. I think I saw five. But I didn't mess with her so I expect she has more.
