Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

Oh and I thought I would let you guys know as it made me laugh, a U.K. shop Marks and Spencer's has started stocking a special brand of egg. The brand promises that every egg will be a double yolker, every time I see them stock they sell out really quickly. On the back of the box it says something along the lines of whenever we get new layers we tend to get these eggs, every one has been checked to make sure they are double yolkers
There is a way to select for double yolk laying hens. I read a post about an Amish farm that uses a rooster from one breed and hens from another--which produces hens that lay mostly double yolked eggs.

Yay!! The Spokane Country Store got chicks in today. I am going to call them on Friday and maybe pick a couple up after work..... I hope they have some left.

I did go to the local co-op to order chicks. The guy told me that I could have 2 sex links on the 26th, then the boss came out and said "Nope.... not until March 4th". What the heck is so important about March 4th anyhow. Is that when the mass shipment of chickies comes to a specific area??

Our local feed store always starts the chick season the first week of March. I think that's when the big hatcheries have their first chicks. Hope they have some for you!
