Show me UGLY coops- where my peeps at?

Additional hinges/nails/anything that's holding it in place could help with strengthening. Drive another post in for extra support to the post. Or just surround the whole deal with electric fencing so a predator can't even come near it.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to add another post. It's pretty low risk, we don't really get raccoons anyway, and our 70+ lb dog is outside all day and random times at night also. I'm not too worried, it can wait until tomorrow.

Ok, well if a raccoon pulls on the post the door is attached to hard enough, it will come off. I am going to try to fix that tomorrow but I have no idea how. :barnie

But otherwise it's DONE (except the nesting boxes but mine don't need that yet so I am going to plan those better than the coop!)

When the weather is drier (so like June) it will get a coat of paint, but hopefully new siding first!

It's also a great time out spot for my 9 year old :yesss:

Thanks, someday I might get more turkeys, but now isn't really the best time. The chickens got replaced (if that's the word, I liked the old ones better!) but there are only half a dozen birds on the property now.
You all really went through the wringer, this year. I'm glad to see you're starting fresh again, even with just a few birds. Hopefully things will get better when Spring comes back ... and the rains (and mud!) behave themselves until your area greens up again. Fresh starts are good!

Ever get REALLY excited about a decision, then immediately after it's made, realize it is going to go horribly, horribly, wrong??

This was one of those times. Free wood on OfferUp. Picture was of a small pile of 2x4s and plywood. Perfect to improve my ugly coop a little.

THIS is what was unloaded in my yard.

The guy who dropped it off was super nice, and I will be able to use a lot of it. And I have a dump run I've been needing to make for awhile. But ooooh man am I sure now that I made a mistake :th

So when I first saw this picture I though you gave up and complete demolished the coop build you were working on :lau

There is some really good wood in there, but yeah, you are also going to be doing someone else's dump run.
