Thank you CaliFarmsAR. Horses were my first love and growing up next to a barn they were inevitably my daughter's as well. We were not able to purchase her first horse until a year and a half ago but were fortunate enough to be around many wonderful and knowledgeable horse people who encouraged her from a young age that it was ok to be the horse crazy young lady that she is. If given the opportunity horses teach you a lot of responsibility. Rosie knows riding is the fun part. The reward after all the hard work that goes into taking care of them. She can clean a stall at 11 with the best of them, knows it needs to be done daily, and with Louis and Russ will do all their grooming with the exception of sheath cleaning. She knows how and why that needs to be done but until she's older mom or papaw handle that job for safety reasons. Horses also can cause interesting conversations with ones teachers. Whenever a vet is out she is right there supervising and asking questions. I've never hidden anything from her. So when a friend had one of hers gelded when she was 4 and in headstart she watched. Then proceeded to go to school the next day and announce to her entire class that Radar had brain surgery and had his nuts cut out. Fun phone call that day.
