That's tough, makes u want to wring her neck but as u said she's a good hen usually.Yes sir, just got home to see it. Mean a** hen, she didn't kill any last year.

I intend to breed them all.. lol
they weren't ones I was particularly concerned about, but it still sucks. I more disappointed in the dog and I hate punishing her. That is what bothers me the most.
Thank you for your input.. . Ive thought about it... the problem is she only gets the chicks when nobody is home... she is a perfect angel when somebody is home... and is terrified of the chicks if I bring them around. As soon as I go to work she goes hunting.I finally broke down and bought a shock collar, have an English Shepard that thought she was the wife's dog and didn't have to listen to me. Solved that problem, now she listens good.
I've used the shock collar on her and the half Airedale half blue heeler to break them of killing chickens. I've got the English Shepard broke, The Airedale/heele isr to prey driven to 100% say he's broke of poultry, prey drive is why he is around so you live with it.
The thing about the shock collar is you just shock them when they are chasing chickens, no yelling or other punishment connected to you. Some one still has to be there to watch them but you can punish them in the instant they are doing the act not after and you aren't fully associated with the punishment in the dogs mind.
Shubin you need a hedgehog or a hamster instead of a dog. LolThank you for your input.. .
