That sucks. I wouldn't and still don't usually let them out at night unless I've trapped the area recently. It's no guarantee but if you remove a fox, within a year or so another will move in. Nothing a 3/16 in cable snare with a few swivels can't take care of. Similar to an otter snare on steroids with an end swivel and an inline box swivel. Should prevent twist offs but I make no guarantees. Lol
That looks like 7x7. 1x19 strand is a faster slicker cable. 1/16 is perfect for fox around the neck but if you get anything around the body they could chew through it, especially a raccoon.Perfect I have an almost unlimited supply of 1/16 or 1/8 aircraft cable
