Leipers can come dark red or light red or any shade in between. It just depends on the families you have. The families I have are from the dark red side(my personal preference). Leipers are hatches. There are many varieties of hatches. When you say your Leiper is mixed with Hatch, I'm assuming by the looks of your pictures
that it's Yellow Leg Hatch(just a guess). Is this correct? BTW, good looking stag.
Thanx.
I have no idea. The guy I bought it from said he is a Leiper Hatch. Thats the only breeds that he has. I dont know what breeds of diferent Hatches or Leipers his parents or grandparents had, but thats all I have to go by. The darker colors do look better. It stands out in a more dominant way. I had a hen that was just Yellow Leg, but I dont know what other bloodlines it came from. Same with a Hatch hen that I have. I have no way of tracing what bloodlines she came from.

Finally got some pictures of my games! These are my American Game Archie Kehr Kelso's.

That's the plan. I think he's gonna turn out great. I went with this stag because of his good quality bloodline. I wanted to originally get a mature cock but the breeder didn't have any available.
