Where do you find reference materials to know the color names of your birds? My chickens look just like the pictures I see here. I don't see many "wheaten" but that is what somebody told me I have several of. What kind of rooster goes with wheaten?

Look up colors for Old English games they are probly the best source to represent most of the reg. normal colors/patterns that is till you get into some of the designer colors and "Furbies"

If for some reason I can't find the perfect Claret cock to put her with, I'm thinking of putting this guy with her. He's an awesome bird,very solid body, easily handled, nicely stationed medium-high, and very social. (Not a good shot of his face) I still would rather produce some pure Clarets though. I'm just very picky.

a lot of folks may not like it, usually from misunderstanding BUT....

I think it would make for an interesting cross myself and I agree it would be nice to have a good Claret mate for her but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

A lot of folks may not like it, but a lot of folks love those Hatch-Clarets.
