That sounds really interesting. I don't know much about the Spanish and have never had any. Pictures of SDM's blues have been really nice. I still have so much work to do with the American Game Bantam because I want them to look just as the large gamefowl and have to keep the legs blue. I'm still getting some green legs. The ABA requires them to be trimmed like the Old English Game Bantams and I don't particularly like that instead of being like the large birds. I posted a picture of male facing the camera and expected someone to comment on it. It would be nice to see some pictures sometime.
believe me I'm not a genetics guru but would a blue legged hatch hen be better the kelso should have yellow legs which would mess up getting blue to breed true, no?

You Spanish are really neat birds. They look like they are in very good condition and I image they are a blast to raise. I believe I need to be doing some more studying on the Spanish. Thank you for posting the photos. I'll keep the photos.
You are welcome. It was dumb luck that I found them. I was talking with a breeder about some miniature American Gamefowl he raised and mentioned what I was trying to do and how it was suggested that I find a miniature Spanish pair to work with. Thinking my chances were slim and none, he chimed in and said he raised them, but didn't sell them. After we talked a little more he then offered to sell me a pair. They have been great little birds with plenty of attitude and the feather quality on them is amazing. Lot's of work ahead!

You are right. Using a hen with yellow legs would take forever, if it can be done at all. The seller of the "Kelso" hens told me they are pure Kelso, but they have blue legs which is one of the reasons I bought them. I may have been fooled and if so, it wasn't the first time. It probably won't be the last either because I'm somewhat gullible. Do all Kelsos have yellow legs?

No blue legs, yellow and I believe sometimes pearl but I've always seen yellow. I take that back I had pearl but from white kelso
