He is an American Game Bantam
nice is that an American game bantam

SDM'
I posted a reply on what I think was the wrong thread. If I had to make a living by posting on this site, I would starve to death. He is an American Game Bantam. I believe my birds are loosing hackles, saddles and tail. I also believe these areas have certain functions on a good game so I put him on the Kelso hens and will have to breed them down again. I'm adding new blood and for me that's like starting over. Thank you for your comment and I'll keep watching for more post on the games.

Not the best pic. All three are still molting too so I've left them alone for the time being.
Looks awesome Havoc! I like those spurred hens. Almost had one last year from SDM's eggs, but the neighbor's dog fixed that for me...

You're welcome, there's someone else on this thread doing pretty much the same thing. Maybe they'll chime in
Who me? :) Not trying to say anything negative, but are American Game Bantams Game? I know they are more for show, but would think there are some out there that are game too.

Sometimes I can't quote so here it goes, I see havoc my grey Broody hens are spurred on both legs

Lmljsl, I've seen them pitted on the internet I didn't know they existed till then. And no he's fine where he is lol. I need to get a few more off him this spring. Ima line breed him to two of his daughters. I'll send you some eggs if u want. Hopefully I'll get some red stags. I assume Brown hens mated to a red cock that the brown hens came from a breeding of a red cock and white hen would throw some red stags. And if all else fails I got access to a hen I can use on lend

Nice, how much do your birds weigh?

I'm sorry for the delay in answering. The males are about 2 lbs. and the females about 26-28 oz. They are still a little large, but they have no Old English Game Bantam in them. I got my starting birds from a man in the northeastern U.S. Who had been raising American Game Bantams for years. I don't show birds anymore, but I am so hooked on them that I can't let them go. My wife's uncle had games in Roswell, N.M. He's deceased now, but he's the one that got me hooked.

Yes, I remember you mentioning your Grey's being double spurred.

Pitting hens?

Thanks for the offer of eggs, but there just aren't enough pens to keep all of the beautiful fowl I see on here.

I would expect some some red stags, but only time will tell.

Delay? I realize people have a life outside of chickens. lol

As a kid I had some miniature blue gamefowl. I liked them, but know a little more now. The one's I had were on the large side and pretty flighty, but nice birds overall. I have been trying to breed down some of SDM's blues. After talking with some of the miniature gamefowl breeders, they suggested using a really small Spanish line. By luck, I found a nice line of "miniature" Spanish that were dark and threw blues. The Spanish were not as small as your AGB, but the hens come in at 2 pounds and the cocks come in at 3 pounds. The advice that was given to me was to use a small hen to get the most size reduction in the first mating.
