Weather here has been mild for most part. Approached zero a couple times but does not stay below 10 for long and no blizzard conditions. Young birds still complaining.

It seems as though I have a weak link in the water supply during freezes. Pipes are fine however there's a small tube maybe 1/8" I.d. that goes from the pump motor to the pressure switch. It was frozen solid eventhough I ran the water. Had the heatgun on it about 4am got it defrosted. Gonna have to fix that.

Heat tape or heat lamp on situation. I would use latter. We had similar problem in pump house so heat lamp shined on pump apparatus was used to raise air temperature of whole little building. Only used on extremely cold nights and heat lamps already available from farrowing pens.

Well thanks Centra forgot about the heat lamps I have prolly 4or5 one will be on it this evening. I have to build a pumphouse I been meaning to but haven't yet.

For now I'll make a makeshift house out of a tarp to keep the heat in
