I wasn't implying that yellow leg hens dont have spurs... I was just saying that I dont have any on my yard.
Oh, I didn't think you were, just had to go check. I don't have anything living to compare it too anyway. lol. It is funny how some traits show linkage like that in certain families. I had some crosses last year and wanted yellow or blue leg pea combed females, but it wasn't happening.
 
I think the double spur trait in a hen comes from inbreeding in any color legs . Some clarets and the line of hugh Norman lacy rh are white legged with black spurs
I would think it would take a little work to set them in a line. I think SDM mentioned one time that all of his Grey hens are double spurred. Not sure what it means, but I have always liked the looks of double spurred hens. Just never seem to get them. lol
 
I have a kelso hen, 3 miners, 1 ruble pullet,a wh/kelso pullet a black hen and a penny/leiper all double spurred. A few more just have nubs but they don't count. I even have a 7 yr old blue Andalusian hen with little half *ssed spurs.
 
About 90% of my hens are spurred.

I'm doing good. No chicks yet and none set. Last year my first hatch was on mar 8th.
Just sold 8 dozen gamefowl eggs for eating lol
